Catherine Cain
Charity Officer
Hello, I’m Catherine (also known as Cat) and I am a Family Law Paralegal at Switalskis Solicitors, specialising in private family and children proceedings. I am currently training to be a solicitor by undertaking the SQE course with BPP University, and I have one further set of exams before qualification! I hope to qualify into family law when the time comes.
Â
My role as Charity Officer involves working alongside our chosen charity of the year to organise events, bring awareness and raise funds for our charity. I believe it is our responsibility as future lawyers to support the local community and help those in need. I have a passion for volunteering and have previous experience in charity work, having been the Charity & Welfare Secretary for my University’s elite cheerleading team and also the Events & Fundraising Officer for ‘Lawyers Without Borders – Student Division’. I was also an active member of my University’s Pro Bono Society and assisted with various projects largely aimed at supporting vulnerable children and disadvantaged young people.

Outside of work and the SQE, I like to read, spend time with friends and travel. I recently returned from a 6-month trip to South & Central America where I travelled 10 countries and visited two wonders of the world. My Spanish has improved greatly, although I now apparently speak it with an Argentine accent!
